We are very happy with the upgraded Hullachan Red jig shoes. We had the original reds, and they were amazing for about a month, but they wore out very quickly due to thin leather. These are very sturdy. Hopeful that we’ll get many months out of them!

I really like the ultra-light shoes.

They stay on my feet better than other shoes that I’ve bought in the past especially because I have narrow heels. The padding is very nice and has held up well. So far the shoes have worn well overall. Other Hullachan’s that I’ve had in the past would split along the side seam and sole around the big toe to the ball of the foot.

The sound is much louder which is great because I don’t have to dance as hard to be heard.

I will say that I don’t really see any difference in the weight between these and other types of hardshoes.

Sizing Guide

Jig Shoe Sizing Guide

Please remember that while following the guidance below will help you get the correct size, the foot is a three dimensional shape and factors such as the depth of the arch will also affect sizing which we are unable to account for here. As such the sizing guide is not a guarantee that the size will be correct. Customers will be responsible for the postage cost of any exchange unless an item was sent in error.

On a general note, jig shoes should not be purchased too large as the ball of the foot needs to sit correctly in the shoe to be able to generate the required sound with the tips. Jig shoes which are too large also make toe walking and more advanced techniques very difficult. A little toe wiggle room is fine but the distance from the tip of the longest toe to the top of the shoe should be no more than 5-10mm (depending on the level of the dancer).

Antonio Pacelli Jig Shoes

We recommend that you order your normal UK school shoe or dress shoe size (Please see below for our UK/US/EU conversion chart). If you have a wide foot then we would suggest you go up half a size and order the wider fitting. Our wider fitting jig shoe has a rounded toe which gives more room for the toes.

Fays Jig Shoes

Fays shoes are a narrower fit and we do not recommend them for dancers with a wider foot.

We suggest that you order half a size larger than your normal UK school shoe or dress shoe size (Please see below for our UK/US/EU conversion chart).

Rutherford Jig Shoes

Rutherford's jig shoes are very similar in size to the wide fit Antonio Pacelli jig shoe. We recommend that you order your UK normal school shoe or dress shoe size (Please see below for our UK/US/EU conversion chart). If you have a wide foot then we would suggest you go up half a size.

Hullachan Jig Shoe

The Hullachan jig shoe is true to size so we would suggest ordering your normal shoe size. Half a size smaller if you like a tight fit.

Product description

The new Hullachan jig shoe is now available for purchase!

When the original Hullachan jig shoe sold out completely we took the opportunity to review the design and make some improvements for this new version.

We have upgraded the leather uppers and improved the padding around the ankle. We have also made changes to the stitching to make them more robust, especially around the toe area.  All the other great features of the Hullachan jig shoe remain the same!

The shoe has been rebranded as the Hullachan Ultra Lite as it combines the features of an Ultra-Lite jig shoe (lightweight and extremely flexible) with durability features which makes them last longer than any other Ultra-Lite on the market!

Changes we have made:

  • Improved Leather Uppers - We have upgraded the leathers used in the shoe for an extra professional appearance on stage.

  • Improved Stitching - We have reviewed the stitching around the front of the shoe and reinforced all stitches to make the shoe stronger and tougher.

  • Improved Padded Ankle Collar - We have updated the padding around the back of the heel so it is a little fuller to stop heel blisters and heel irritation when dancing on your toes.

Other features of the Hullachan Jig shoe:

  • Lightweight - The Hullachan Jig shoe has lots of support and comfort features but we have kept the shoe very light so you can dance for hours.

  • Clever Insoles - A dual layer insole which has both shock absorption and comfort layers to protect your joints and make the shoe a joy to wear.

  • Flexible black suede sole - Zero breaking in time so you can get straight up on your toes.

  • Concorde Lite heels - 30% lighter with a sound that is even louder than our normal Concorde heel due to an internal echo chamber.

  • Shorter toe length - For a neat appearance

  • Breathable red lining - Elegant and effective!

  • New Hullachan tips - Even louder than our Liberty tip! Get noticed!
Sizing Advice

The sizing on the new Hullachan Ultra Lite jig shoe is the same as the previous Hullachan Jig Shoe.

The shoe still runs true to size so we would suggest ordering your normal UK shoe size. Go half a size smaller if you like a tight fit.
