Tips and heels

Which combination of tip and heel should I go for?
We offer a range of different tips and heels to suit all styles and abilities. Here is a summary:

  • Leinster Tip - The Leinster tips has been around for many years and is still the preferred by dancers of most ages.
  • Concorde Tip – Open/Championship level tip. The Concorde tip has a unique sound on any dance floor and is virtually unbreakable.
  • Liberty Tip - Open/Championship level tip. Our loudest tip with a clear, sharp tone.
  • Capezio Tip - For show dancers only. A metal tip for dancer's in theatre productions, a light tip which offers excellent mic pick up. The Capezio is illegal in both the An Commission and Comhdhail and will lead to disqualification if worn in competition. If you require this tip, please indicate it under the special requirements section of the order form.
  • Leinster Heel - The Leinster comes as standard on all our jig shoes. The Leinster heel is a straight heel with a hollow centre which generates a clean, clear sound. Ideal for beginners or intermediates and still preferred by many more experienced dancers.
  • Concorde Heel - The Concorde heel has been designed for more experienced dancers. The slightly curved heel is a solid heel made from the same material as our Concorde tip and gives a very loud sound on impact.
  • Bubble Heel - For Comhdhail dancers only as the bubble heel is illegal in the An Commission. If you require this heel, then please indicate it under the special requirements section of the order form.

Special requirements

Do you do different widths in the Jig shoe?
Yes we do, all Antonio Pacelli branded jig shoes are available in a standard and wide width. Our wider width has a rounded toe which provides more room around the toes and ball of the foot. Please choose what width you require when selecting your jig shoe.

Can I get my tips squared off?
Yes, also called 'flattening the tip' involves creating a flat surface at the front of the tip to make toe-walking easier. As this is such a popular request all our jig shoes have this feature as standard.

What other jig shoe adjustment are available?
There are several types of adjustments available, including changes to the height or heel and tip, half or full rubber soles, back-loops or longer straps. These do incur additional charges, ranging from £3.40 for a extra high heel to £16.75 for a full rubber sole. Please indicate any adjustments in the special requirements section of this order form. We will contact you to inform you of the cost by email and you can decide whether to proceed.
